G-Max concealed ground detection includes G-Sensor seismic sensing, UPDS and LM-Sensor passive magnetic sensing, and Sensor Net weight sensing. These systems detect different physical effects. Selection should begin with the target activity and installation conditions rather than treating all buried sensors as interchangeable.
G-Sensor uses buried addressable geophones to monitor seismic activity transmitted through the ground. Intended targets include seismic activity associated with footsteps, crawling, digging or tunneling, and moving vehicles. The project assessment should consider ground conditions, routine site activity and how the sensors will be calibrated and tested. Detection performance depends on the ground, target activity and commissioned settings.
UPDS and LM-Sensor use passive magnetic detection. Buried figure-eight loops monitor open approaches clear of metal fences and respond to ferromagnetic anomalies, including those associated with armed or tool-carrying intruders. Detection depends on the target’s ferromagnetic characteristics. Nearby metal infrastructure and moving metal objects are important matters to resolve during application assessment.
An optional double-loop configuration provides crossing-direction information; a single-loop arrangement serves different detection requirements. If inward-versus-outward movement matters to the operational response, confirm the required loop configuration and site layout. Crossing-direction information requires the appropriate configuration.
Sensor Net monitors direct weight changes on a concealed mesh beneath specified covering materials. Suitable coverings include gravel, volcanic tuff and synthetic turf, with weight thresholds calibrated for the installation. Applications include open approaches, fence-side strips and the sterile corridor between two correctional facility fences. Its intended detection area is the installed strip, so the planned crossing path and surface construction matter.
For seismic sensing, establish the relevant ground activity and background activity. For passive magnetic sensing, establish the target’s ferromagnetic characteristics and nearby metal conditions. For weight sensing, establish how the target reaches the strip, the surface covering and required thresholds. For every option, define installation access, alarm zones, camera coverage and a site-specific acceptance test.
These ground-detection technologies integrate with the R123 Universal Controller and configured camera cueing. Sensor Net also offers a standalone relay option. Confirm the selected interface, available diagnostics and operational features for the actual equipment package. A concealed detection line still needs a clear process for assessment, response and maintenance.
