G-Max Sensor Net is a concealed perimeter intrusion detection system that responds to weight applied to a sensing mesh. The sensing mesh is installed beneath suitable coverings such as washed gravel, volcanic tuff or synthetic turf. Its sensing principle differs from systems that monitor fence vibration, seismic ground activity or magnetic changes. This makes the surface construction and the intended detection strip central parts of the application assessment.
Sensor Net can be considered as a standalone detection strip across an approach or as a strip beside a perimeter fence. The protected strip can be configured to detect applied weight from walking, crawling, landing after a fence crossing or activity associated with digging beneath a fence. Layout and commissioning should establish where the target activity is expected to apply weight to the protected strip.
In correctional facilities, Sensor Net can monitor the corridor between an inner and an outer perimeter fence. Entry onto the monitored ground strip provides a detection event before the person reaches the outer barrier. This is a distinct sensing location from the inner fence itself. The corridor design should account for authorized access, surface condition and how operators investigate an alarm.
Weight thresholds are calibrated for the intended target and installation. Selection should therefore consider the intended target, the surface covering and how the protected strip will be used. Confirm the required threshold settings and test procedure for the actual installation rather than assuming one setting suits every site.
Sensor Net supports an R123 Universal Controller connection or a standalone dry-contact relay arrangement. Remote threshold calibration, self-test diagnostics and PTZ camera cueing are available according to the selected control configuration. Confirm which functions are included in the selected hardware, interfaces and project configuration. Available status information and controls differ between relay and integrated R123 configurations.
Provide a plan of the intended strip, the proposed surface covering, nearby fences and authorized activity. Define the required alarm zones, camera coverage and control-room response. These details help establish whether weight-sensing detection is the appropriate choice and how it should complement other perimeter measures.
